Springtime is a season of renewal and awakening after winter. It’s also the season of cleaning and organization! And there is no better time than now to clean up your RV, whether you’re a snowbird who just returned home to the north, a summertime camping aficionado prepping for many adventures to come, or a full-timer who just needs to refresh your space.
If you’re ready to banish the dust bunnies and start spring with a fresh outlook, check out these 3 easy tips to get spring cleaning in your RV started!
Dust, Vacuum & Mop
Dust and dirt accumulates quickly in any home, but especially in a small space like an RV. The core of your spring cleaning chores should focus around dusting and wiping down and disinfecting surfaces, as well as vacuuming and mopping floors. Use gentle and non-abrasive cleaning products and microfiber cloths to wipe counters, cabinets, tables, and other surfaces. And use a compact but powerful vacuum to suck up dirt, hair, and debris from floors before mopping or Swiffering floors to catch any excess dirt and leave floors sparkling clean.
Wash and Dry Textiles
It’s obvious that you need to wash your bed sheets and towels frequently. But for spring cleaning, it’s a good idea to also wash other fabrics and other textiles that are removable and washable, such as rugs, couch cushion covers, pillow covers, curtains or drapes, and other items. This will remove dirt, dust, and other allergens trapped in fibers and brighten up dingy areas.
Add Organizational Items
When a space is cluttered, it’s impossible for it to feel clean. After all your hard work wiping, vacuuming, and washing textiles, it doesn’t make sense to junk up your space again. So tackle clutter once and for all by implementing hooks, shelves, boxes, baskets, and bins where you can to corral your stuff. In addition, look for ways to capitalize on wasted space. For example, you can use over-the-door hanging racks to store cutting boards and sheet pans on a cabinet door instead of taking up space in the cabinet itself.
