3 Easy Ways to Document Your RV Trips and Memories

Travel evokes a host of emotions, usually of excitement and joy. For this reason, many people love to revisit the memories and stories after a particularly good trip. And if you ask us, every RV trip falls into this category, and there is nothing better than looking back on where you’ve been in your rig.

But when you want to take a trip down memory lane, can you rely on your memory to properly retell the details of that cross-country journey you took? Can you easily find some photos in your phone of that epic sunset? Sure, you can. Or you can take steps to document your trips in a more organized way and reap the benefits!

Here are 3 easy ways to document your RV road trips:

Jot Notes Down

Keeping a little notebook or journal during your travels is an excellent way to document information. You don’t have to write a novel each day—unless you want to!—but you can make note of especially enjoyable meals or that hidden spring you found on a morning mountain hike. Write down what you did or how you feel and before you know it, you’ll have a set of raw notes documenting your trip.

Map it Out

The highways and byways of America (and other countries, too) are the RV enthusiast’s companion. The route you take to get to a certain destination is not just the conduit to get from point A to point B, but is often an integral part of a trip’s fun and excitement. So why not map out your travels? You can do so digitally, like on Google Maps. But don’t rule out a hard copy map with pushpins and highlighting that identifies your destinations and routes.

Get Social

These days it is almost a requirement for people to have at least one social media account, whether it’s Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or any of the many other platforms available. You can easily access these programs through apps on your phone and adding statuses, photos, and videos is a snap, making social media an excellent tool for documenting your trips. Another option is to create your own website that details your travels.
