4 RV Travel Resolutions for 2023

It’s a new year and it’s time to set new goals for yourself. While many people stop adhering to their annual resolutions, it’s still helpful to have them and work toward completing them. Oftentimes, framing your resolutions around something you already love is a surefire way to hit your goals. Here are four RV travel resolutions you can set for yourself this year:

Use Your Vacation Days

A large segment of the RVing population is now young working people. With many companies offering work from home allowances and flexible time off options, workers have the ability to work and travel at the same time. However, if true rest and relaxation is on your to-do list this year, take time off to really enjoy your RV travel days and to explore destinations. Taking a couple days off during which you check emails the entire time isn’t restful—make a commitment to use your vacation days to the fullest this year and truly disconnect while away from work.

Make a List of Destinations

Map out some of your travel goals by making a list of places you want to visit in your RV. List all the places you’d like to go in the coming year, but also include one epic destination—the type of place that’s a far-reaching dream but one you’ve thought about for a long time. Include that in your list and find small ways to work toward that epic trip. To really make things interesting, include weird or quirky locations, too, such as roadside attractions. Ever seen the International Car Forest of the Last Church? Time to make a trip!

Make New Friends

Travel opens you up to new experiences, cultures, and places. While you’re traveling in your rig, make sure to meet new people. Smile and say hello to others at the camp store where you’re staying, share snacks with others on a hike, or simply invite other campers over for a potluck dinner. Step outside your comfort zone and make a point to meet new friends this year.

Try Out a New Activity

Maybe you’ve always wanted to try white water rafting or rock climbing but have been apprehensive. Or maybe just the thought of attending a campground crafting class has made you nervous. Put your nerves aside—-this is the year to try out something new and see how you like it! Even if the activity is not something you’d want to do again or for the long term, at the very least, you can say you tried it.
