5 Reasons to Go RV Camping in the Spring

It’s officially spring! While you may typically save your camping trips for the summer, we’re here to encourage you to consider taking a trip with your RV this spring.

Here are five reasons to do it!

Perfect Weather

Yes, spring can bring rain at times, but in general, the weather is warmer and more mild compared to winter and summer. Spring weather makes it more comfortable to jump in the rig and set up camp somewhere.

Smaller Crowds

We can’t guarantee that your RV will be one of few in any particular campground, because the popularity of RVing has exploded in the past several years. But summer is still seen as the vacation season, when children are out of school and families are more able to travel. Spring camping, on the other hand, is a great way to try and avoid the summer crowds, especially in national and state parks, and other outdoor attractions.

An Extended Camping Season

Here in Florida, we’re pretty much able to camp throughout the year, but for our northern friends, that is less of a possibility. Starting your camping season in spring instead of summer can help you take more trips in your RV throughout the year and enjoy hard-earned rest and relaxation more.

Nature Puts on a Show

Springtime is a time of rebirth, growth and renewal–plants are invigorated to grow in the warmer temperatures, flowers bloom, pollinators are active, and wildlife comes out of hibernation and starts to flourish again. RV camping during this time creates an opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to get a front seat to the show that nature puts on every day.

An Affordable Vacation

Because summer is the most popular time of year to RV camp, you may find that prices for all sorts of things are higher during that time, from camp site fees to attraction prices. But because springtime is a shoulder season and is typically less busy, your RV trip could be more affordable than a summertime jaunt would be.
