How Does Boondockers Welcome Work?
Create an Account
To be a guest, you become a member and create a user profile. In your profile, you should share some facts about yourself without giving away personal data. For example, why you got into RVing and some of your favorite travel destinations are good topics to cover in your profile. Hosts will look at your profile, so make it unique and fun!
Find & Contact Hosts
Next, you can search for Hosts, who share details about their properties on the site. You’ll find information about what size rigs a Host can accommodate, what services they offer (many have electrical hookups and even RV dumps!), and what types of setups they allow on their property. And because Hosts are located across North America, you’ll surely find a location that suits your needs. Search for Hosts along your route, at a specific destination, or just by looking at a map of available locations.
When you’ve found some Hosts that match what you’re looking for and need, send them messages through the Boondockers Welcome secure messaging system. Don’t forget to add what dates you’d like to visit and ask any questions you may have.
Visit Your Host
Once a Host has accepted your request, it’s time to plan your trip! When you arrive, remember to set up according to your Host’s guidelines and respect their privacy. It’s best to only stay for one to three days, and if you use a Host’s electricity or water during your stay, offering your Host some cash to cover the costs is required.
