4 Must-Have Travel Apps

4 Must-Have Travel Apps

The RV lifestyle is one of travel and adventure. And while the app market has a ton of great road-trip apps you didn’t know you needed, there are even more travel apps that you should have in your arsenal. Check these out!

Gas Buddy

Everyone is feeling the pinch at the pump these days, and unfortunately, gas prices don’t seem to be falling. But with Gas Buddy, you can find the cheapest gas near your location, whether you’re in the U.S. or Canada. You can sort nearby stations by distance and you can compare prices for regular, midrange, premium, or diesel fuel.

TollSmart

Try as you might, you may not be able to avoid tolls all the time. This can be problematic, especially when you weren’t expecting to pay a toll and you’re left scrambling for your wallet and some change. Luckily, there’s TollSmart, an app that tells you the total toll costs along your desired route. You can even set the app to give RV-based tolls, as tolls for RVs often cost more than cars.

History Here

This app created by the HISTORY Channel is great for history buffs! History Here reveals history hidden along your desired route. Discover museums, battlefields, historic homes, and more through digital content and maps. Curious about what historical hot spots are along the old Route 66? Or want to visit Civil War battlefields along your drive? This app is the way to go!

AllTrails

When it’s time to stretch your legs after a long-haul trek in your RV, pull up AllTrails. This app displays trails—from basic to advanced—that are located near you. Choose a trail based on your desired trail distance and elevation, and read detailed reviews and photos generated from app users.
