4 Unique Ways to Use Your RV

4 Unique Ways to Use Your RV

Unless you’re a full-time RVer, it’s likely that you don’t get to use your rig as much as you’d like. Sure, you take the occasional vacation here and there, but what do you do with your rig if it’s just sitting there not being used? Here are four unique ways you can use your RV and get the most out of it at all times!

Live in Your RV During a Home Renovation

If you own a sticks-and-bricks residence that is in need of updating, it may be time for a home renovation. And if you have an RV, you can save yourself a bundle by living in it instead of paying for a hotel. You can also save yourself from staying with family members until the work on your house is completed.

Host Family or Travelers on Your Property

The holidays are right around the corner and that can mean spending lots and lots of time with family. In some cases, you may also be hosting family for overnight stays. Instead of having everyone stay in your house, set them up in your RV. This will allow your family members (or friends!) to have their own space to stretch out, relax, and even cook for themselves while they are in town.

In a similar vein, you could rent out your RV to travelers, whether you keep the rig on your property or move it to locations near your home. Using services such as Outdoorsy, people who are looking to rent an RV can select your listing and make a reservation. And you’ll get paid for it!

Rent or Donate Your RV as Temporary Housing

Natural disasters such as wildfires, hurricanes, earthquakes, and tornadoes can wreak havoc, whether they affect just a community or a wide swath of the country. These events can be devastating and cause many to lose their loved ones, possessions, and their homes. During such times, RV owners and dealers are often called upon to donate or rent their rigs to those who’ve lost everything. Doing so provides a safe, warm place for folks to get back on their feet and heal from the events they’ve lived through.

Mobile Office

Not everyone is a digital nomad, traveling the country in an RV while continuing to work. Maybe you’re just one of the many people who work from home these days. But there are likely times when sitting in your house alone or with kids home from school just isn’t going to cut it. Luckily, you can use your rig as an office for the day. In fact, you could even drive to a public location to park and perhaps work with a view.
