When people talk about why it’s great traveling in an RV, you hear about how you can save money, that you are exposed to nature more, and how you can wake up in a different location each day if you choose. And those are all great advantages! But what about some of the less thought about or forgotten benefits of having an RV? We break a few down for you!

Stretch out to nap whenever you need to

Have you ever tried to sleep all scrunched up in the backseat of a car? Or worse, in the driver’s seat? If so, you know that it was an uncomfortable experience. When you’re traveling in an RV, however, you don’t have to contort your body just to catch a few winks; you can stretch out on your couch or bed for a restful nap or for the entire evening.  

You have a place to relax when an unexpected repair need arises

Sometimes issues arise with your RV that can interrupt your travel: the engine won’t turn over, a tire is popped. Luckily, when your vehicle is your home on wheels, you can wait in comfort for the repair to be completed. You might be sidelined for an afternoon or even a few days, but either way, you’ll have your place to relax in while you wait. When repairs take a day or two to complete, you may even be able to spend the night in your rig on-site at the repair shop, saving you the expense of staying in a hotel. 

Avoid questionable public bathrooms

One of the greatest advantages for many RVers is the luxury of having their own bathroom on the road. When you’re tired and have been driving all day, the last thing you’ll want to do is have to use a filthy bathroom in a gas station or at a rest stop. You can instead pull over, use the bathroom, and carry along without a problem. Having a restroom at your disposal is also key if you have kids! 

You can rent it out when you’re not using it 

If you’re an occasional RVer, you can make some money on the side by renting your rig out when you’re not using it. Sure, it can be a little weird to share your rig with strangers, but lots of people are finding joy in helping others experience and get hooked on the RV lifestyle. The extra income doesn’t hurt either!
