How to Spend Your Tax Refund on Your RV

It’s tax season, and we’re just a few weeks away from the annual filing deadline of April 15. Around this time, anyone who is expecting a refund starts dreaming about the things they’ll do with their refund checks.

If you’re an RV enthusiast and need some help figuring out how you could spend your influx of cash, never fear. Read on to find out how you can spend your tax refund on your rig, just as soon as the money arrives in your bank account.

Downsize or Upgrade Your RV

Tax season is a reasonable time to buy nearly any vehicle, as manufacturers are all vying for the attention of those with extra cash on hand by launching promotions and limited-time offers. As such, it could be a good opportunity for you to make an RV change. For example, if the rig you have now is too big and difficult to maintain, downsizing to a smaller, more manageable option may be right for you. On the other hand, if you’re preparing to live in your RV full time and want to ensure you have enough space to do so, upgrading to an RV with more square footage could be just the ticket.

Buy Gadgets

Buying electronics and other technologically advanced gadgets is a fantastic way you can spend your tax refund. Have you always wanted to make your RV more energy efficient? Investing in solar panels that can charge your battery, even when you’re boondocking, is an excellent choice. If you can’t live without your phone, tablet, and laptop, perhaps getting a Wi-Fi extender would fit the bill.

Upgrade Interior and Exterior Features

Beautify your space by spending your refund on interior and exterior improvements. Spruce up your RV interior by getting rid of carpet and laying laminate floors, painting your cabinets and upgrading hardware, and replacing various fixtures (think lights, faucets, appliances, and more). You could also give your rig a new paint job to enhance its exterior and overall “curb appeal.”

Plan a Trip

Another great way to spend your tax dollars is to hit the road! You could plan a trip to a destination you haven’t been before and make it a vacation of a lifetime. Or you could plan a theme trip, such as one revolving around the best hot dogs or the best barbeque in the country. Whatever you plan, try to do something you wouldn’t normally do. Experiment a little!

There are many things you can do with your tax refund, of course, but allow yourself to have fun thinking about ways you could spend that refund on your RV.
