- Prevent damage caused by ultraviolet (UV) rays – When your RV is exposed to the elements, UV rays from the sun can beat down on it and cause damage to the exterior paint and finishes (think peeling, cracking, and discoloration) and cause interior upholstery and other fabrics to fade and deteriorate. A high-quality cover can reflect UV rays away from your rig and help keep the interior and exterior looking good as new for years to come.
- Eliminate the risk of other types of exterior damage – Bird droppings, sap, windblown debris – these are all things that can accumulate on or affect an uncovered RV, causing damage to paint, scratches, and dents. With a cover, though, your rig is better protected from these issues.
- Limit the risk of black streaks forming – Every RV enthusiast is familiar with the problem: When dirt and dust combine with rainwater or other moisture and creep down the sides of an RV, ugly black streaks are left. These streaks are a pain to clean off, but covering your RV can help prevent them from ever forming.
- Reduce water damage and infiltration – Over time, your RV’s seals and weather stripping are susceptible to breakdown, allowing water and moisture to enter via the roof, windows, vents, and other exposed areas. This breakdown can occur even faster when your vehicle is left out in the elements, because UV rays more quickly break down rubber and plastics. Covering your RV with a water-resistant option can help keep repel water away from your vehicle, but also allow any moisture from within the cover to escape breathe.
