New Year’s Resolutions for RV Enthusiasts

Another year has flown by and January 1, 2017, is waiting just around the corner. If you’re like most people, the prospect of a new year and a fresh start might encourage you to come up with some resolutions, or things that you’ll truly make an effort to accomplish or achieve in the year, such as losing weight or disconnecting more from technology. But resolutions don’t have to just be about health and wellness. If you’re an RV enthusiast, you should also put some resolutions into place that can help ensure you enjoy your rig to the fullest this year.

Here are just a few ideas that you can work into your New Year’s Goals for 2017 and start enhancing your RV experience:

  • Take that themed trip you’ve always wanted to take – Have you wanted to visit all the baseball parks in the country? Or hit all the storied barbeque spots in the South? Or even do a winery tour of Napa Valley? This is the year to do it. Take that trip idea you’ve been tossing around and make a plan to help it come to fruition.
  • Implement sustainable practices – Whether it means sealing your RV’s windows with weather stripping, changing your rig’s old lightbulbs to LED options, trying out a composting toilet, using your generator less, or installing solar panels, take a few steps to lessen the burden your RV places on Mother Nature this year. With just a few simple changes, you can reduce your RV’s usage of fuel, electricity, and water and do your part to help the environment.
  • Streamline your packing list – Try to cut down on clutter when you travel. Did you actually use that turkey fryer on your last vacation? If not, don’t bring it this time around. Be mindful of what you pack and only bring the essentials, items that you will definitely use on a regular basis. Not only will you have an easier time dealing with less clutter in your RV, the load placed on your rig will be lighter, so you’ll burn less gas moving from Point A to Point B.
  • Document your trips – If family members and friends are constantly asking about your trips and what you’re doing, or if you’re ready to have better records of your adventures, make this the year that you start documenting travel events on a blog, vlog, and/or other forms of social media.
  • Maintain a commitment to healthier living, even on the road – Just because you’re on vacation or traveling in your RV doesn’t mean that you have to forego a healthy lifestyle. Make an effort to pack healthy snacks before enjoying outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, and going to the beach. Prepare your own healthy meals in your RV as much as possible instead of eating out and get plenty of exercise – simply walking around the campground counts!
Whatever your personal goals for 2017, make this year one to remember by enjoying some quality time on the road in your RV. Contact us today to learn more!
