Glamping is a term that entered the lexicon in the early 2000s. A blend of “glamorous” and “camping,” glamping originally referred to glamorous tent camping. Some would say that RVing is already glamorous compared to tent camping. But if you want to amplify your RV camping experience, follow these easy tips to make your rig and campsite feel like a luxury resort.

No “glampsite” is complete without proper lighting. Of course, you’ll have the sun during the day and lights in your rig, but at nighttime, it’s important to use softer, more romantic lighting. Spend long evenings around the campfire under the soft glow of string lights strung between your awning and trees. Take that ambiance inside by hanging string lights around windows and cabinets as well. You can opt for electric or battery operated versions. And be sure to supplement your lighting choices with a few fragrant candles.

Adding mood lighting is a necessity for glamping, but so is creating comfortable outdoor living spaces to lounge and relax. Think of the area outside your RV as your living room, so outfit it with a rug, plush camping chairs, and lounging furniture. In addition, opt for high thread count linens, plush pillows, and soft comforters and blankets to finish off your glam bedroom. 

Set out Fresh Flowers 

Beautiful flowers can dress up any room in your sticks-and-bricks home, and the same is true in your RV! Whether you bring flowers with you or pick them up once you reach your glamping destination, be sure to stock up on enough blooms to get you through a week. Placing thoughtful flower arrangements in and around your rig can help beautify your living space and create a calming atmosphere.
