What is Hipcamp?

More and more people are looking for ways to spend time outside, make memories with family and friends, and take a break from the typical rush and stress of life. And as RVing continues to skyrocket in popularity across the country and beyond, people want to connect with nature while RV camping. One of the companies that is helping RVers find unique, affordable places to camp (in a time when reserving public campsites anywhere is incredibly difficult) is Hipcamp

Often called the Airbnb of the outdoors, Hipcamp was founded in 2013 and aggregates land and campsite listings—both public and private—and makes them available to campers.

How Does it Work?

Hipcamp can connect you to campsites at a variety of unique locations, from farms and wineries to backyards and public parks. All you have to do is download the Hipcamp app or access the website and start your search. The easiest option is to choose “RV parks near me” and begin scrolling through the available properties.

When you select a property, you’ll see a plethora of helpful details, including:

  • How many RV sites are available at the property
  • What types of RVs can be accommodated
  • Whether sites are ADA accessible
  • Whether hookups are available
  • Which restrictions are in place, such as no pets or no campfires
  • Which amenities (such as WiFi, potable water, showers, etc.) are available or not
  • What activities can be enjoyed on the property
  • Check-in and check-out policies
  • Cancellation policies
  • And much more

You can also peruse photos of the property, read reviews from other campers, and send the host any questions you may have via message.

When you’re ready to secure a property, simply enter your check-in and check-out dates, the number of guests, and request to book. It’s that easy!

How Much Does it Cost?

Hipcamp campsite costs will vary depending on the type (tent campsites, for example, will often cost less than glamping sites), but RV sites typically begin at around $20 per night and can go upwards from there. These price ranges make Hipcamp an incredibly affordable option for RVers to experience the outdoors and have a unique camping experience.

Have you used Hipcamp before? What do you like about it, in your opinion? Let us know in the comments or contact us today!
