Host Holiday Celebrations in Your RV

In the past couple of years, we have seen a major increase in RVing across a wide audience, including young professionals and retired seniors. With so many people on the road and living a full-time RV lifestyle more now than ever, there will likely be a need for some people to host family gatherings in their rigs. If you’re one of those people, here are a few tips to help you host fun and relaxing holiday celebrations in your RV.

Decorate!

The first step in hosting holiday gatherings is to decorate your space. Adding string lights inside and outside your rig is a fast and simple way to add ambiance and festive cheer. Throw in a couple comfy accessories such as throw pillows and blankets, and you’ve created an atmosphere that is cozy and inviting. Finish the decor with an artificial mini Christmas tree, electric menorahs, or other decorations that reflect the holiday you’re celebrating.

Assess Seating

Space is limited in an RV, of course, so you’ll want to make sure that you have enough seating for your guests. If you’re staying or living in a warmer climate during the holidays, take advantage of your outdoor space and seat guests at picnic tables, folding tables, in camp chairs, or in whatever other types of seating you have available.

Prepare Your Space for Guests

It’s important to make guests feel welcome and comfortable while visiting you in your RV, so clean your rig thoroughly before the big day. Place clean hand towels and seasonal hand soap out, and ensure that you have plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, and other necessities on hand. Additionally, place little bowls of individually wrapped treats, candy canes, and other snacks throughout the space and outside to encourage guests to snack while they are mingling.

Serve Great Food and Beverages

No holiday celebration is complete without food and drinks! Create a menu of items that you can easily execute upon in the days leading up to the event using the appliances you have on hand. If the weather allows you to be outside, plan to grill foods instead of using the RV’s stove. And if you want to serve baked goods, you can always use an Instant Pot (instead of your RV oven) to create some delicious treats. Of course, you can also ask guests to each bring something to share with the group. Or, for an even easier approach to feeding your guests, you can order food from a restaurant or caterer. Simply serve, sit back, and enjoy the time with your guests!
